Our explorer camps get into all kinds of shenanigans!
Explorers stay in our centrally located Cabin Village and get to explore everything camp has to offer! The schedule is a bit less structured, so the group can decide together which activities they want to plan for the week. Explorer campers go creekwalking, play games, explore the furnace ruins and hunt for slag, sing silly songs, play gaga ball, make crafts, and have their own small group Bible study. They also join the rest of camp for morning worship and afternoon activities such as swimming at the lake.
There is a partial week option for Explorer camp, if you are unsure your camper (or you) can handle an entire week. This gives you an opportunity to "test out" overnight camp. Your camper arrives on Sunday with everyone else and we have a conversation with them on Tuesday, where they can decide whether to stay the rest of the week or not. We let you know their decision, and provide an option to pick up your camper at Wednesday lunch. For many Explorers, camp is their first time away from home. Every Explorer camper stayed the entire week in 2017!
