Summer Camp

Construction was on hold for the
Summer Camp Season and
is gearing up to resume.

While completing the TWO new buildings is very important, so is our
Summer Camp program. For the campers safety and to provide a peaceful
environment for enjoying the outdoors we choose to suspend construction
until Summer Camp concludes in mid August.

We are beginning the process of building the new bath/shower house and the new meeting room, which will be called The Upper Room. The Upper Room will provide space for up to 120 persons to meet all at once, or it can be separated into three separate smaller rooms. The bathhouse will replace the dated showers that are now located in Moyer Lodge and free up space in the lodge to be re allocated for other purposes.

Crews arrived the first week of March to begin clearing away some trees where the two new buildings will be located. The ground has been graded, footers poured and for The Upper Room, the walls are up, the roof is on the windows are in and the doors are up. This week they are beginning to put up the walls for the bathhouse. Check back on Fridays and we'll keep you updated on our exciting progress.

The 50th year Capital Appeal construction is in full swing.  The Upper Room and Bath House are scheduled for substantial completion by June 15, the first day of camp.  Obtaining favorable loan terms and an extended construction permit time impacted our start.  The major construction exterior activity will be completed and the contiguous camp site areas restored for both buildings by the start of camp on June 15th.   The grand opening for the new buildings pending the interiors finishing and operational commissioning.  The exciting new buildings work which will not impact the start of the 2008 camping season.
